About Mopars Unlimited of Idaho...

Mopars Unlimited of Idaho (MUI) would like to welcome you as a potential member of its growing group of Mopar enthusiasts.  Before joining, you may have questions about our philosophies, club meetings, events, or your role as a member.  We have prepared this page to better explain our objectives and answer many commonly asked questions.  If there are questions we don’t answer here, please contact one of the club officers at your convenience.

Our History and Objectives…

Mopars Unlimited of Idaho was founded in 1987 by Nate and Carole Calvin and is the official Idaho chapter of Mopars Unlimited. The first get together was at the McDonald's on Orchard St. in Boise. Original founding members still in the club are Bob Austin, Bob Brooks, Bill and Jody Boyce, and Ronnie George. There are additional chapters located in various locations around Washington, Arizona and Colorado.  By being a chapter of Mopars Unlimited, we are required to have a complete set of club bylaws and such.  Since you would be joining our club to meet and have a good time with others who share in the hobby of collecting and preserving Mopar cars and trucks; we’ll keep the bylaws for another discussion.  In general, our objective is simple.

“To promote the preservation and restoration of Mopar vehicles including Chrysler, Imperial, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, Eagle, Fargo, DeSoto, Willy's, and AMC. From the earliest models of cars and trucks to current production vehicles.”

To make sure this club continues to grow and be enjoyable, we focus our attention on member services and comfort.  Every member needs to feel like they are part of the club and that their yearly dues are matched with an expected level of enjoyment and entertainment.  Throughout the year, MUI organizes monthly events and other gatherings that keep members as involved as they want to be.  While most of these are car related, some (like those during the cold winter months) are brought indoors.

If you’ve been involved in a car club before, you may have witnessed cliques, pressure to get your car done a certain way, or obvious dislike for your car selection.  Well, you won’t find that here.  This is a “family” that has genuine appreciation and support for every member’s intentions, no matter how unique they are.  So, whether you drive a RAM pickup, Cordoba, Hemi ‘Cuda, Super Bee, Dart GT, PT Cruiser, Neon, or are looking for a new Mopar, your way of celebrating your Mopar enthusiasm is always welcome.

How do I fit in?

Many people hesitate from joining a club because they don’t want the pressure to get involved or cannot commit to attending meetings.  As a member of MUI, you can do as much or as little as you would like.  Picture the club as your favorite dinner buffet.  You can take as much or as little as you would like at any time.  If you’d just like to receive your quarterly newsletter, no problem!  If you’d like to attend a couple events or want to help park cars at our annual show and shine, the choice is yours.   Your involvement is completely up to you and your membership will not be cancelled if you don’t attend a single club meeting, monthly event or even own a Mopar.

Staying Connected…
To keep members informed and involved, we have developed three separate ways of getting information out.  First, club meetings  are held every month  where all members are invited to attend.  Meetings are a great place to meet club officers and other members, as well as find out what the club is planning for the next couple months. As a bonus, there are door prizes and yummy treats at monthly meetings.  Second, all members will receive our full-color “Points and Plugs” quarterly newsletter. Third, MUI maintains a beautifully detailed web site that can be used anytime to get information about meetings, events and much more.

Want More Information?
We’d love the opportunity to answer any additional questions you may have about Mopars Unlimited of Idaho.  We are one of the largest car clubs in Idaho because of philosophies and beliefs that make members feel a part of something interesting and fun.  If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to contact any of our MUI members.
